This voluminous handbag was fashioned for us by skillful Vietnamese artisans of vintage Hmong handwoven textiles featuring various traditional techniques: hand batik dying, hand embroidery and hand appliquées. The cloth was originally made as a woman\'s garment, a Hmong woman\'s skirt. When the garment wore out the fabric was preserved and repurposed. This textile is a beautiful and labor-intensive example of traditional Vietnamese Hmong textile manufacture, an artistic style which is disappearing. The handle is of soft leather.
