How to measure

Follow these simple steps to measure the shorts (garment) and your body so you can choose the best fit. Use a flexible tape measure and measure on a flat surface for the most accurate results.

Measuring the garment (laid flat)

1. 
   Waist (relaxed): Lay the shorts flat and smooth any wrinkles. Measure straight across the top of the waistband from left to right. Double that number to get the full waist circumference.

   Waist (stretched): If the waistband is elastic, gently stretch it to the desired comfortable fit and measure across. Double to get the stretched circumference — useful for drawstring/elastic waists.

   Hip: Measure straight across the shorts at the fullest part of the seat (about 3–4\" / 7–10 cm below the waistband). Double to get the hip circumference.

   Inseam: Measure from the crotch seam (inner leg seam) down to the bottom hem.

   Outseam (total length): Measure from the top of the waistband to the bottom hem along the side seam.

   Front rise / Back rise: Front rise is measured from the top of the front waistband to the crotch seam. Back rise is measured from the top of the back waistband to the crotch seam.

   Thigh: Measure straight across the leg 1\" (2.5 cm) below the crotch seam. Double the number for full thigh circumference.

   Hem width: Measure straight across the bottom hem of one leg.
   

Measuring your body (for sizing)

  Natural waist: Measure around where you normally wear your shorts (not where your trousers sit if that’s lower). Keep tape comfortably snug but not tight.

  Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips/seat while standing with feet together.


• 
  Inseam: Measure from the top of your inner thigh down to where you want the shorts to end.


• 
  Tip: Compare your body measurements to the garment measurements (not the tag size). If you are between sizes, choose up for a more relaxed fit or down for a slimmer fit.
