Kōkopu Toki | Scott Parker
This striking piece by Scott Parker is carved from pounamu into a shape inspired by the native New Zealand kōkopu, which is the adult stage of whitebait.
While it carries the presence of a traditional toki, the elongated, tapering form is a creative nod to the sleek shape of these freshwater fish. The stone itself features a rich, mossy green base dappled with natural dark speckles that beautifully mirror the unique markings found on the kōkopu.
Scott has intricately carved flowing traditional motifs along the face of the pendant, creating a lovely tactile contrast with the smooth, polished finish of the pounamu.
Suspended from an adjustable black cord, it is a unique and meaningful piece of wearable art that celebrates both Māori craftsmanship and our native aquatic heritage.
Dimensions:
Width - 25mm x Height - 80mm
Cord length - 450mm
