After moving to New York, she worked as an art director across editorial, beauty, and tech industries. Amid the city’s fast-paced chaos, she discovered a deep love for meditation. Inspired by her long-standing fascination with ombré colors and sensory design, Shiori envisioned a new kindof incense—one that is visually striking and invites focus through its evolving aromas. She partnered with one of Japan’s most prestigious incense factories to bring this idea to life, creating Orika’s signature gradient incense collection. 

TRADITION AND MYTHEach incense stick is hand crafted on Awaji Island, where over 70% of Japan’s incense is made. According to Japanese mythology, Awaji was the first island created by the deities Izanagi and Izanami, making it a sacred place rooted in spiritual heritage and craftsmanship. Every stick is infused with this legacy—carefully made, deeply meaningful, and fueled with a quiet kind of magic.
