The Saarinen Tulip Table was designed between 1954 and 1957.  It was introduced in 1958 in New York City as part of a wide range of revolutionary furniture.  The Pedestal Series comprised a side chair, armchair, stool, coffee, and side tables, as well as various sizes of dining-height tables.  Saarinen’s famous tulip base was used on each of these pieces of furniture.  Each was constructed from cast aluminum, creating a strong and durable piece of furniture.

Through the years, Saarinen experimented extensively with the tulip table.  Various sizes and materials were used for the Saarinen tabletop and the base.  Since he died in 1961, even more sizes and materials have been developed to meet the extensive demand for this modern classic series of furniture. 

Our Saarinen Tables are a masterful reproduction of the original Saarinen Table. Close attention is paid to the workmanship of the stone and base, resulting in a modern classic that is designed to last for years. The Saarinen Tulip Table base is available in matte white, glossy white, matte black, or glossy black, as well as matte silver. The Saarinen Table top is available in a wide variety of stones and laminates, including the popular white Carrara and black Marquina.   

The Saarinen Table base is treated with a clear protective finish to resist scratches, stains, and scuffs.  Stone tops are protected with a natural wax finish.
