A charming late 18th-Century English antique comb-back Windsor armchair, made for a child.
Most probably West-Country made, circa 1780. The chair has traces of its original green paint.
Constructed from ash and elm.
With a shaped cresting-rail over a spindle back and single bent-wood bow and shaped arm supports and elm seat, supported on four splayed legs with two stretchers.
Provenance - Unknown.
Condition - as per the images. The chair has two historic blacksmith-made repairs. One to the left arm and one to the underside of the seat board to support the seat which has am historic but stable split. This chair displays very well and oozes all the charm of the period which it relates.
Size - Back Height 83 cm x Width (outer arm to outer arm) 49 cm x Depth (including sloping back) 38 cm x Seat Height 31 cm (32 5/8\" x 19 1/4\" x 14 7/8\" x 12 1/4\")
