Dovo SwissWood Spruce Straight Razor blends centuries of tradition with modern craftsmanship. Inspired by Japanese blacksmithing, its accomplished blade design offers both precision and elegance. The sustainable walnut, maple, spruce, and beech wood handle is densified and hardened through an innovative process, making it highly resistant to water and soap. The polished tang, back, and innovative shape add striking visual accents, making this razor as beautiful as it is functional.

The 5/8 inch blade is a true all rounder; heavy enough to glide smoothly across the skin with minimal pressure, yet nimble enough to handle detailed areas around the nose, ears, and chin. Its hollow grind provides flexibility while maintaining high torsional rigidity, producing the satisfying sound of a gentle, precise shave.

Forged from silver steel (1.2210 carbon steel), the blade is heat-treated to over 1000°C, quenched in special oil, and tempered for toughness, achieving a hardness of about 61 HRC. The sustainable SwissWood spruce handle, sourced from Switzerland, undergoes compaction to achieve extreme hardness and long-lasting durability, complementing the blade’s strength.

Care Instructions: Rinse with warm water after shaving, dab dry without touching the edge, and store open to dry completely. Allow 48 hours between shaves for the burr to realign. For longer storage, apply acid-free oil to protect the blade.

How to Shave: Strop on a leather strop before use. Apply shaving lather or oil, stretch the skin, and hold the razor at a 30° angle. Start with the grain, then finish against the grain for a close, smooth shave.
