Detailed information on Iwasaki・岩崎・Tamahagane Kamisori
Rare Vintage Iwasaki Tamahagane Razor, most likely made by Master Shigeoshi Iwasaki or Mizuochi San in the 1960s the Japanese Showa period. We restored it to be shave ready and added a rattan wrapping with black Urushi Lacquer. The Kamisori was used and you can see that on the Omote side where the previous owner was honing pieces a bit away to make the sharpening easier.
It comes with a Kamisori box that was slightly altered by the previous owner. Usually these boxes can hold up to 3 pre War Orihi Kamisoris here it was made so that only the Iwasaki Kamisori fits.
Inside the original Sharpening stone. with the original black Nagura stone (pretty rare to have this still together)
Box is otherwise in good shape
