This exceptional Japanese whetstone was selected by us and imported directly from Japan, thoroughly tested and sealed on sides and back to protect the stone for long term use.

It measures 205 mm (8.07 inches) long × 75 mm (2.95 inches) wide × 32 mm (1.26 inches) tall, and weighs 1248 g (44.02 oz / 2.75 lbs).

Hardness: 4.9+Super hard, vintage Ozuku Mizu Asagi with Kan striping. This is a prototypical example of a old Ozuku Asagi. Super hard, yet not glassy. This is a super hard, super dense stone perfect for finishing razors. Mikawa nagura progressions are exceptional with clear feedback due to the absence of base stone in the slurry. This allows the Nagura to cut effectively and work at maximum capacity. This stone is on the slower side being so hard and dense and stingy to release itself. For this reason, it is best served as a pure razor finisher.
