Ethiopia Guji Roba Boda GR1 Washed: Floral Precision & High-Altitude Purity
From the renowned highlands of Guji Zone in southern Ethiopia, the Roba Boda GR1 Washed lot showcases the clarity and elegance that have made this origin one of the most celebrated in specialty coffee. Sourced from the Roba Boda washing station, this Grade 1 selection represents the highest tier of Ethiopian export quality—meticulously sorted for minimal defects and exceptional cup character.
Grown at impressive elevations, Guji coffees are known for their vibrant florals, refined acidity, and layered sweetness—hallmarks beautifully expressed in this washed lot.
Process: Fully washed—ripe cherries are selectively hand-picked, pulped, and fermented in water before being thoroughly washed and slowly dried on raised African beds. This method enhances clarity, aromatic intensity, and crisp, structured acidity.
Altitude: Typically 1,800–2,100 masl. The cool mountain climate slows cherry maturation, concentrating sugars and building remarkable flavour complexity.
Harvest & Processing: Smallholder farmers deliver carefully selected red cherries to the Roba Boda station. After precise fermentation and washing, parchment coffee is dried evenly on raised beds, allowing airflow for consistent moisture reduction. Final hand-sorting ensures Grade 1 export standards are met.
