This particular example adds a layer of distinctly American charm. Produced under contract for L.L. Bean of Freeport, Maine, it represents a fascinating intersection between Hamilton’s watchmaking muscle and New England’s most iconic outfitter. While most Hamilton x L.L. Bean collaborations leaned into straightforward Khaki field watches, this tri-register chronograph is a rarer and more compelling detour.

The dark dial, balanced three-register layout, and prominent day-date display give it a purposeful, almost tactical feel. At 39mm, the proportions remain spot-on — substantial enough to feel sporty, restrained enough to wear daily without fanfare.

Inside beats an automatic chronograph built on a retrofitted Valjoux base — robust, serviceable, and proven. It’s the kind of movement you want in a watch designed for real use.
