The Margot Dress is defined by contrast in construction. A fully smocked bodice offers flexibility and comfort through the bust, while the skirt is intentionally left ungathered, creating a smooth, uninterrupted drape that’s rarely seen in smocked designs. This clean transition allows for oversized pockets to sit flat and functional at the hips, without adding bulk or distortion to the silhouette.

The skirt is cut as a full circle, giving Margot a dramatic sweep and beautiful movement when you walk or twirl, while tapering neatly into the waist for a clean, controlled shape. Because the waist itself has no elastic, a hidden side seam zipper is used for a precise fit. A drawstring at the waist allows the dress to be cinched tightly if desired, creating a defined, snatched look that stretch fabrics simply can’t achieve.
