Impressive large black cotton koinobori (carp streamer), measuring approximately 268 cm in length.
Originally used for Children’s Day in Japan, koinobori are traditional carp-shaped banners symbolising strength and good fortune. This piece has a strong visual presence and works beautifully as a wall display, shop decoration, or statement textile art.
The texture of the cotton and its aged character give it an authentic wabi-sabi atmosphere.
Traditional koinobori were often made from natural materials such as cotton.Today, most are produced using synthetic fabrics, making older cotton examples less commonly found.
The natural fibre and aged texture give this piece a distinctive character not seen in modern versions.
Size: approx. 268 × 59 cmMaterial: CottonCondition:As this is a vintage item stored for many years, there may be signs of age such as stains, wear, small holes, fading, or uneven colouring. Some storage odour may be present.
Please understand this is an antique textile. It is not in perfect condition.Colours may appear slightly different due to digital photography.
