I BREATHE POETRY is capusule collection of eyewear born from the collaboration between VANNI and Catalin Pislaru, young Moldavian artist and winner of the #artistroom prize at Artissima 2021. Catalin, as a student wrote “I breathe poetry” on the door of his studio with a marker, it will become a dictum for him to follow, a point of reference for ongoing research. Year 1988 and year 2088 are the two models of glasses that suggest a retro-futuristic current, a metaphysical dialogue between the ‘80s and a possible future, the year 2088, a romantic conflict between past and dystopian future. VANNI is at the forefront of innovation in the International eyewear design. Made in Italy for sure.

Shield sunglasses, in unisex and women’s models, constructed with layers of coloured acetate, alternating leaves of monochrome material and crystal. The sheets of colour are stacked together, visible as solid stripes on the width of the frame, milled and moulded at other points to offer a sculptural, three-dimensional effect, leveraging colourful accents to emphasise the gaze.

The visual uniformity of the front and lens creates a mask-like effect that references the 80s shields, and can also wear optical lenses.
